8th Annual Bayou BallThursday, June 20th--Festevents, in partnership with the Arts Council of New Orleans, will present a FREE intimate evening of art and music on Thursday, June 20, beginning at 7pm in the Missing Kidney Bar. The evening will provide the opportunity for guests to meet and talk with the NOLA artists about their art as well as bid on original pieces and other prizes through a silent auction while listening to the sounds of New Orelans and enjoying authentic cajun food from Cajun Cafe and cold beverages inspired by New Orleans. The proceeds from the silent auction are donated to the Arts Council of New Orleans to aid their efforts in rebuilding the art community of New Orleans. 2nd Annual Smithfield Country-QueSaturday, October 12th--2nd Annual Smithfield Country-Que. The day starts early in the morning with the annual Hog Jog 5K that last year had 721participants!!!! The race benefits Relay For Life and is sponsored by the Luter Family YMCA. After the race, folks take to what’s known as Souper Saturday which is run by Christian Outreach. All of the area churches offer a sampling and sell a variety of soups throughout the day. This is hugely popular and draws huge crowds from all over. Throughout the day, downtown Smithfield will be full of vendors, civic organizations and a very popular car show. The day’s events typically wrapped up by early afternoon. But this year, the day won’t end early! The Smithfield Country-Que will be the big event to cap off the day at beautiful and historic Windsor Castle Park in downtown Smithfield, overlooking the Pagan River and Cypress Creek.
