Saturday, October 12th--2nd Annual Smithfield Country-Que. The day starts early in the morning with the annual Hog Jog 5K that last year had 721participants!!!! The race benefits Relay For Life and is sponsored by the Luter Family YMCA. After the race, folks take to what’s known as Souper Saturday which is run by Christian Outreach. All of the area churches offer a sampling and sell a variety of soups throughout the day. This is hugely popular and draws huge crowds from all over. Throughout the day, downtown Smithfield will be full of vendors, civic organizations and a very popular car show. The day’s events typically wrapped up by early afternoon. But this year, the day won’t end early! The Smithfield Country-Que will be the big event to cap off the day at beautiful and historic Windsor Castle Park in downtown Smithfield, overlooking the Pagan River and Cypress Creek.
Gates will open at noon and the event will run from 1pm-6pm with an “all you-can-eat/
100% of the proceeds from this event goes directly to two non-profit youth athletic organizations, Smithfield Recreation Association (the area’s only youth baseball and softball program) and the Smithfield High School Athletic Boosters Club.
